Moms in Prayer has been in existence since the mid 1980’s. The following is the story of how it came into being from its founder Fern Nichols. I’ll never forget the day in 1984 when I sent my two eldest sons off to junior high school. Fearful thoughts formed when I considered what they would be facing. I knew the school would be a battlefield for their hearts and minds. I prayed for them, but the urgency remained. “Oh Lord,” I prayed, “there must be one other mom who would take time to pray with me.” My desperate prayer was answered. Who could have foreseen God’s mighty plan? Today, tens of thousands of women gather in all 50 states and in more than 130 (now over 140) countries to pray for their children and schools. Will you join us? Consider praying this simple prayer, “Lord please bring one other mom to pray with me.” –Fern Nichols, Founder and President Moms in Prayer International.
We are fortunate to be able to send our children to a Christian School, one that has a rich heritage of praying for our children. The mission of Moms in Prayer International or MIPI is simple:
“Moms in Prayer International impacts children and schools worldwide for “Christ by gathering mothers to pray.”
Most Friday mornings during the school year your child or another student at PHCA is being lifted up to our Lord in prayer. If you would like to join our Friday morning group or simply have questions please do not hesitate to e-mail me or drop a note in the MIPI mailbox in the office.
If you have a prayer request, please drop it off in the Moms In Prayer mailbox in the Academy office or e-mail it confidentially to firstname.lastname@example.org. Even when MIPI is not able to meet, we will still lift your prayers up through our prayer chain. Prayer requests sent via e-mail that are received by Thursday at 5pm, will be lifted up on Friday mornings.
